OMICRON VARIANT Display Font

OMICRON VARIANT Display Font

The date of creation of my latest typeface has been changed from the original 14th November World Diabetes Day, that commemorates the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting who co-discovered insulin in 1922, to Friday the 26th November when the WHO officially named this the latest VOC (variant of concern) the OMICRON VARIANT , sadly those born with type-1 Diabetes along with chronic lung disease and serious heart disease are at the biggest risk factor for mortality of those who test positive for COVID-19, unsuprising the logo for WDD is also the letter ‘O’ the greek letter Omicron, or maybe this typeface was just waiting to be created to help raise awareness?

The B.1.1.529 variant was first reported to WHO from South Africa on 24 November 2021. The epidemiological situation in South Africa has been characterized by three distinct peaks in reported cases, the latest of which was predominantly the Delta variant. In recent weeks, infections have increased steeply, coinciding with the detection of B.1.1.529 variant. The first known confirmed B.1.1.529 infection was from a specimen collected on 9 November 2021. I decided to dedicate my OMICRON VARIANT to help raise awareness and hopefully raise much needed funds for the World Diabetes Foundation.

This demo version has 14 glyphs 12 letters and 2 numbers, for the full version please visit my Etsy Store @ https://etsy.me/3xCItDj to help support the fight against COVID-19 I have decided to donation 10% from the sale of the OTF version to the World Diabetes Foundation @ https://bit.ly/3xBYLMR
