Srbija Sans Font is a custom typeface developed in cooperation with Metaklinika design studio. It is an integral part of the identity of the national tourist brand created for the National Tourist Organisation of Serbia.
It consists of clean letterforms in a bold weight, with no decorative or unnecessary details, allowing it to be easily applied to a variety of difficult backgrounds, such as photography. This is a contemporary sans serif with a geometric touch, which is a common aspect of grotesque fonts. That makes it a timeless and neutral font that can be used for all types of communication.
However, this typeface is much more than pure geometry. To avoid the appearance of coldness and restraint, it was given very subtle humanistic touches that made it appear more natural and spontaneous. Aside from the fact that round glyphs never represent a perfect circle, the influence of the hand may also be seen in the letters K, R, Q, K, M, ж, and a few others. As a result, the font looks warm and inviting. At the same time, these characteristics distinguish it from other comparable typefaces and make it recognizable. Furthermore, because they contribute to the diversity of letterforms, these features improve readability.
Srbija Sans is ideal for graphic design and any display use. Also, due to the aforementioned characteristics, as well as the high x-height, it could easily work for composing texts at very small sizes, in both print and web design.
