Handel Gothic Font

Handel Gothic fonts have been the mainstay of graphic communication for over 40 years – always looking today as tomorrow. Designed by Don Handel in the mid-1960s and used in the 1973 United Airlines logo developed by Saul Bass, Handel Gothic was an instant success when it was released to the graphic design community. The generous lowercase x height, full body counter, and square proportions make the design very legible in a variety of sizes. The slightly characteristic handel Gothic character shapes gave the dial a futuristic look 40 years ago that still holds its power to this day. In addition, its Uncial-like lowercase is instantly recognizable – and is unique among sans serif typefaces.
