Tarawera Font

Tarawera Font is a font I created in 2021 for a Polytechnic project where we were tasked with designing a font inspired by a building on Vogel Street, Dunedin. I chose the National Mortgage and Agency Company building because I admired its Art Deco style. Originally owned by the Union Steam Ship Company, I also drew inspiration from the USSCo flag for Tarawera’s design. The font’s name, “Tarawera,” comes from an old ship used between 1882 and 1927.
