The album’s title track, “Mr. Luck and Ms. Doom,” is based on a song title from Willy Vlautin’s novel, The Horse. The song tells the story of two unlikely lovers: a man named Mr. Luck who is sentenced to four years in prison for his first crime, and Ms. Doom, a depressed house cleaner. Despite their circumstances, they find love and happiness together.
