Pilcrow Font

Pilcrow Font is a commanding yet minimalistic typeface that effortlessly adapts to any design context. It comes in two versions: straight-cornered and rounded (Pilcrow Soft) and has 5 weights (Regular through Heavy).

The design does not include Italics, relying on weight contrast for emphasis instead. Pilcrow has square-like proportions with proportional spacing, making it legible for short texts, especially for use in web 2.0-style logos and technology applications.

The Pilcrow Soft version has a friendlier appeal than the squared-off Pilcrow strokes. The deep cuts and large counter forms are prominent features of Pilcrow, visible in letters like ‘A’, ‘M’, ‘N’, ‘V’, and ‘W’ and the lowercase ‘v’, ‘w’, ‘y’ and numeral ‘4’. The lowercase ‘u’ is geometric and full of character, while the numerals have strong diagonal strokes. The typeface name, Pilcrow, comes from the ¶ symbol used to mark the start of a paragraph.
