Financier Collection Font Family

Financier Collection Font Family is an elegant, authoritative serif with an undeniable British heritage. Drawn for the redesign of the Financial Times (FT) in 2014, it comprises two complementary families: Financier Display and Financier Text. Financier’s aesthetic comes from Eric Gill’s classic letterforms. Financier Text draws pragmatic detailing from Solus and Joanna; Financier Display takes Perpetua’s stately charm. Their respective italics reconcile mechanical sloped Romans and traditional calligraphic forms with a narrow, slight incline. They have a frugal, staccato grace, creating a formal typographic atmosphere that never feels dry. Financier’s versatility handles news and features in the arts, science and sport — as well as finance. Furthermore, Financier works across all media, from wide-printed broadsheets to narrow mobile screens.
