The Escape Artist is a non-fiction book that tells the story of Rudolf Vrba, a Slovakian Jew who escaped from the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1944. Vrba and his fellow escapee, Alfréd Wetzler, were the first Jews to successfully escape from Auschwitz and provide detailed information about the Holocaust to the Allied powers.
